I can't find the answer on wiki and the ingame information is as usual severely lacking. I'm trying to figure out whether Polarize can fully strip enemies like Pillage, especially since the armor stripping has been changed somewhat recently.1.) I usually hit the button if I feel like I might drop, cc-ing enemies and making it easier for shadow to scoop up the 5 kills for the self revive. Plus I like the pseudo time stop/stasis effect it has and how Terrify is thematically closer to a Reaper frame type skill compared to Fireblast.
