Hi, the initial thing to do for laptops in general is to remove the battery, remove the power cord for 5 minutes. Let it sit. Then insert the power cord without battery and try starting. Then try starting with battery alone and no power cord. After that, give me your EXACT model number of gateway laptop (and serial number ideally) and I can look up any known issues with it.Over the past couple weeks, this has happened a few times but closing the screen, waiting a few seconds and reopening solved the problem.
